5/15 afternoon bass

Hit the marsh Friday afternoon on a spur of the moment trip with my dad. I think he caught all the bigger ones which made me happy to see him catch them. Also, we didn't realize the afternoon tournament was out there til a small parade of boats ran by. Bass were caught on cane thumpers or tequila sunrise worm. Hard to beat an afternoon with dad on the water and catching fish. Attachment 88041Attachment 88044

X2. Can't beat an afternoon like that with your dad. Fine mess of fish to boot. :)

I caught my first bass in our old boat with dad out in miami. We used to launch at superior. Its where i cut my teeth bass fishing. Haven't really gone since Rita but i never remember catching fish like that healthy on a regular basis. 12 inch and in the box! Is that the area you're fishing? I don't even have a 25hp anymore to fish that area but wouldn't mind going that way again.

This is in Miami corp marsh. It's been slowly improving every year. Few years back most everything was smaller but they are starting to get a little size now. If I can get my girls a little more excited about fishing, I would be out there a few times a week, especially now that it's not too hot.

Nice trip! My father in law has permission to a lot of that marsh. I need to jump on it!
