lacassine grass?
 

what is every ones thoughts on how the grass is going to be this year in lacassine? we actually had a winter this year. should that have knocked out a bunch of grass?

Will be knocked back I would imagine. But the people will be in there thick thick just like usual the first 2 weeks.
After about 10-14 days is when I start. That place gets to crazy. I have seen to many close calls in boats and almost had some myself. Not worth it. Good luck to all who go and be safe. Catch a big one and send me a pic. Lol.

I sure hope so. last year was my first year fishing it. and the few places I fished had some really thick grass. I actually went during the times you mentioned but it was during the work week and even though the parking lots were full, I didn't find it that hard to run and fish without being on top of someone else. I enjoyed it and looking forward to it again this year

I usually wait a little longer for the same reason. Opening weekend has always been crazy...even when we had to launch at Humble Landing or Teppies and pull over the rollers. Of course back then it had not silted in as much and there were a lot more fishable areas.

It oughtta be epic.
The Burns needed a good hard freeze, too.

surface grass got knocked back quite a bit, subsurface grass is still very much there.

last year I was fishing an area where most of the grass was just a few inches below the water. your saying that's still there?

Grass under the surface will always come back. What doesn?t get eaten by the ducks and geese during the winter will still be there. Surface grass that gets hit with the freezes sees a major kill but in time will come back slowly. Always does.
