CCA State Convention

The 2010 CCA Louisiana State Convention on March 5-6 at the Hilton Capitol Center in downtown Baton Rouge will be jam packed with fun and educational events, including an address by Gov. Bobby Jindal and an insider’s tour of the legendary LSU Tiger Stadium. You won’t want to miss this exciting two-day convention, so register today so you can take part in the many events planned for the State Convention.

The State Convention opens Friday morning with meetings at which the CCA state board and its committees will map out plans for the rest of 2010. Friday afternoon, all registered attendees are invited to join a comprehensive tour of LSU Tiger Stadium. Following the stadium tour, guests head back to the Hilton Capitol Center for the annual State Convention Banquet, a talk by Gov. Jindal, Hall of Fame inductions and chapter awards. The governor will discuss conservation projects around the state.

Saturday morning and early afternoon will be dedicated to discussions led by experts from around the country regarding fisheries management issues as well as coastal restoration efforts in Louisiana.

Saturday night features everybody’s favorite: the big Chapter Cook-off and Tailgate Party on the banks of the Mississippi River. (WHICH THE LAKE CHARLES CHAPTER WILL WIN THIS YEAR!!! :pissed:)

Registration is $100 per person or $150 per couple, which includes all admissions, meals and drinks for the weekend. Separate banquet tickets, cook off tickets and banquet tables are available.

CCA Texas had booths at both the Houston Boat and Houston Fishing Shows.
CCA La. needs more better booths. They also had a drawing for a fancy stand up kayak that had sponsons out to the side, fully loaded. They had hats, shirts, raffles for boats, rod and reels and they had a lady's booth too. They attract a lot more lookers than the ones in La. that I have been to.
They need to go look and learn from the Tx. CCA. Just my opinion.

CCA Texas pay to have those "LOOKERS" at their booth Ray.
I believe they (CCA Texas) approach their booth set up more from a Corporate expense while we are more Grass Roots, IMO only.

CCA TX is the mold all other chapters follow. LA is really the closest chapter to them in terms of size, membership, etc. But CCA TX has much more $$ at their disposal than CCA LA, hence better booths & giveaways.
