the jaws

Anyone ever fish the jaws??
I pulled my camp from the wax to a marina near there and was wondering how the fishing was.

Good area to fish for redfish. It will get better and better with the river falling. Been a while since I fished there used to be submerged grass beds just outside the terraces they put out there. Rip a rattle trap over the top of the grass. There is even good bass fishing in the canals north of the intracoastal, quintana oilfield area.

anything to look out far as underwater obstructions and what not?

The actual jaws cut can be dangerous if you don't pay attention. There is some pilings that you have to stay in the middle of. Been a while since I been they might have channel markers now. It's not hard to learn, pretty much a straight shot into cote blanche.

thanks bro may have to go spend a few days out there before we move the camp back to the wax.

It's a pretty cool area to fish....I prefer east cote blanche has alot of cuts and canals to fish around.

we usually do a little red fishing at the wax during the duck season.... wish the bay was closer of a run from the wax it would be nice to get a cast and blast on some trout

You can hit up rabbit island for trout....not too far from the wax. River can't be too high though...

Sabine slayer 07-14-2013 11:32 PM
