I agree..... Buy one of the three B's just get the one that fits you the best. Shoulder them up.... That's what's bad about buying for someone else. What fits you may not fit him.

I know the gun is a gift but if she is spending some serious money I would let him go pick out what he likes and fits him.

I have a couple of buddies who just bought beretta a400's and they both love them. I have an xtrema 1 and have drug that thing through hell and back and have never had any problems. You really can't go wrong with Beretta, Benelli, or Browning.

That's what I was kind of looking for with just personal reviews. I feel ya on the fact that you should "fit yourself" for the best gun but I just want to point her in a good direction of brands. I should have made that clearer on my original post. Sorry for the confusion and thank you for the responses. Keep them coming if you don't mind.

All three make nice guns ,and as well all three have guns out there that have issues at some time or another .No one gun maker is perfect 100% of the time . So keep that in mind before the brand bashing starts . I prefer a Browning ,to me the Beretta Extrema feels bulky .The new Benelli Super Vinci I find just ugly . But it my personal preference ,so the gun owner should always pick his own gun from one of these three brands mentioned . I have seen some issues with the Benelli Super Vinci cutting peoples fingers up on the trigger guards when they shoot. Has anyone else seen this ?
Just remember fit is the most important ...never buy just cause my buddy said this was the best .

I totally agree with this... I love my SBE II, but I would also put brownings at the top of my list and berettas last. Just personal preference about looks and feel. All three are well made guns

Rigratnomeaux had that same problem with a Super Vinci cutting his finger. He got rid of it and bought an A400.

Never had those issues with my Super Vinci. Love it. More than my SBE II. I heard they had issues with trigger guard on the first "Vinci" but they made changes on the Super Vinci and made the trigger guard bigger.

I guess I'm not one of the cool kids cause I don't shoot an automatic. But I will give my opinion.
I shoot a Benelli Super Nova that I bought used about 5 or 6 years ago and it is the most reliable shotgun I have used and I'm hard on my equipment. And paired with the patternmaster I bought I wouldn't shoot anything else.
My dad has one of the new Remington 887 pumps and the gun is nothing but trouble.

I agree that te Nova is a work horse. Both mine and my brothers have been through Hell and back. Even though I hate the feel of the gun and can't shoot it worth a damn..... Just ask MarshRat! :rotfl: for the most part this season I've been using the wife's Beretta 3901 and I'm really liking it. Only downfall is no 3-1/2".

I think the only time he had that problem was when he shot the Remington hyper speed which have a ton of recoil.
