Found this one in my attack. Part of the label is blurred so I can't make out what it is. Anyone have a clue? Attachment 54965

The insert resembles a Dodson. He's a local call maker out of church point I think

Faulks never had that red around the label I don't think. Maybe an older herters? There was a guy who made some out of Minnesota that it resembles on the label. I believe last name was quam maybe

Not a Faulks for sure. I had one like that and am trying to remember the brand.

That's the one I was talking about Oscar quam. My gpaw had one. The guy that supplied him with crawfish at his market(old Cajun seafood on verot) gave him like 10. That Hoosier does look similar too but op call has more writing seems like

You found the egg layed by the Golden Goose there. Take care of it because they are rare. When the subject of Custom calls come up, the Hambone is the standard used by alot of people. Each & everyone that carries that name was 100% hand built from start to finish. He built a bunch, at least for a 1 man factory, but never got into a mass production bussiness.

Here is a little know deal that you can look at to see it the call is 100% original, take the barrell out of the call, look at the reed, see if it has an "X" marked on the reed. If it does that was a deal he done when he had finished hand tuning the call.

Five calls made by Johnny Ray Sellers of Obion, Tennessee. The first call is one of Johnny's first calls. It is a plain cedar call. The next four are all banded. They are made from persimmon, walnut and cherry. The last call has one of Johnny's labels on the barrel. You can see the influence of E.L. Quinn in Johnny's calls as E.L. helped get Johnny started. You can find Johnny on page 168 in Fleming's secondbook.

Those are sweet and from a very reputable craftsman. How'd you get your hands on them? I've been making em for a few months now. Really getting good on the lathe. Here are some teal calls I made recently in the last month or two.

The one to the left isn't a teal call. It's a single reed echo insert.

How does that old call sound man? Is it really raspy?

I found out its from the 40's. it sounds good and I was thinking of putting it on my lanyard til I found out what it was. Not as raspy as you'd think it would be.
