HIGH SALINITY, LIGHT WIND & LIVE BAIT = CATCHING FISH

Good catches of some solid 19 to 23 inch trout came to the cleaning table this past week. Captain Kirk Stansel reports that trout catching has been good chasing a few pods of diving gulls and drifting of oyster reefs on the south end of the lake early in the morning. Live shrimp along with Hackberry Hustlers and little John soft plastic baits rigged on light lead heads have been the best baits. Captain Raini Morvan said fishing the marsh this past week has been good on smaller size trout for the fish fry back home. Live shrimp are becoming more available at the bait houses and will get even better as the fresh water continues to move out of the system. Redfish continue to come from throwing live bait at the banks and cuts along the marsh edges. Click here to see them all.
