New Boat
 

Hey guys, just bought my first boat for saltwater. A 2010 Nautic Star 1910 with a yamaha 115 on it. I have a 2015 chevy colorado v6 2wd with tow package and was curious what are some good launches to launch at for calcasieu lake? Any ideas would greatly be appreciated! Just want to get the wife out and fishing. Thanks for input!

On the east side of the lake, there is the I-210 launch for the prien lake/ lake charles area (the prien lake boat launch is closed for around a year for construction).

There is also Calcasieu Point, which is near Turner's Bay. It's got a nice cleaning station and a shop for live bait and some supplies that is open later in the spring.

Hebert's landing is further south... it's $5 to launch and is in a good position to access most of the lake. It can get a little low during the winter after a front but should be good from here on out.

And there's also a launch at the cameron jetties on the south end of the lake.

there's also several on the west side of the lake that i'm not as familiar with

i have a 2110 nautic star and launch all these with no issue year round. on the west side i use Dugas'. it's pretty much directly across the lake from Hebert's. and is where i typically launch in the winter to target flounder in the ship channel. it costs $2 or $3 bucks. it can get low, but again i've never had any trouble, just be aware on low days that there is a sunk boat about 30' from the launch you need to go around.
