I'm In!!

RAGINJROB 06-14-2012 04:17 PM

We have plenty with LKFC that would probably fish. We also regularly have kayak tournaments on BL.

LPfishnTIM 06-14-2012 06:02 PM

I'd fish it, just bought a yak and wanting to go fishing this weekend to try it out, if anyone is going and wouldn't mind showing me some pointers I'd appreciate it, I can fish anywhere from dularge to venice.

ckinchen 06-14-2012 08:09 PM

We could make it an add on to our current tournament if you guys wanted, right now the yak fishermen are part of the regular crew. Having another "official" tournament for money this year is way more than I have time for and we cant ask our sponsors for more than they already do. We have some great prizes and having the yak group separate would not be hard.

Would it be for reds or trout for the kayaks?

Maybe do a heaviest Cajun slam for the kayaks?

SaltERedneck 06-15-2012 07:01 AM

I would definately be down for this one...

1. All waters joining calcasieu.
2. reds or specs or slam?
3. Launch anywhere type deal?
4. No mothershipping.

Just some things to think about

BassAssasin 06-15-2012 07:43 AM

Dang i need a yak!

BassYakR 06-15-2012 09:20 AM

Any more thought into this?

You guys tell me what you want to do. I am good with largest 2 legal reds like the redfish series, largest trout from a yak like the normal rules, let me know. I agree no mother ship.

Largest 2 reds(between 16"-27") per team. 2 man teams with the option to fish solo incase he/she can't find a partner. No mothership. Same rules as the trout tourney(start time, weigh in). No live bonus. Artificial only.

If everyone can agree or add to this maybe we can get it going before August gets too close. I'll bump this again in the morning for everyone to see.

BassYakR 06-18-2012 09:24 PM

Launch anywhere tho correct?

Yes, that would fall under the same rules as the trout tourney. If its the same as last year, as long as you attend the captains meeting the night before and check your team in, you can launch anywhere.

Hopefully Casey will see this and we can decide on something.

SpeckWrangler 06-18-2012 10:09 PM

I'm in as well guys

I agree micah. 2 largest slot reds per team/ or single. no live bonus. launch anywhere. fish any joining waters on calcasieu. artificial only. no mothership.

YellowMouth7 06-19-2012 09:35 AM

The changes have been made and we are up and running. Please see the announcement thread at the link below and you can follow the instructions there to get to the main thread and let us know if you are participating and or click on the store to pay for event.

Those of you that were planning on posting about this on other sites please do so, any help you can give would be appreciated.

ckinchen 07-14-2012 11:23 AM

Only a few people have committed to be inolved this year, if we are going to have this division every year we need a better turn out. See below for an update, guys please do what you can to get some more folks involved.

Thanks,

bmac 07-14-2012 07:02 PM

If you get in touch with the lafayette kayak fishing club, bayou coast kayak fishing club, and texaskayakfisherman.com I bet you would get some more entries.

Edit: OOPS, I forgot I posted the same thing awhile back.

BassYakR 07-16-2012 05:28 PM

I posted the tourney on the lafayette forum and on TexasKayakFisherman.com forum...
