Shimano dc reels
Anybody have any thoughts on the dc reels from shimano??
|
I have one and love it. but I don't think I'd buy another one. It's just too much money when the lower end reels are so advanced that you aren't getting a whole lot more with the dc. I have the calcutta 250TE DC. Like I said, I like it but you can get a great reel for several hundred cheaper. with like a curado or any calcutta. shimano makes great reels and the several hundred more for the DC just isn't worth it.
answer to your question- yes its a great reel should you buy one- I wouldn't. just get 2 good reels for the price of that one |
I've had a few of the Calais DC reels and, although nice, they're not $250 better than the Calais.

I have a Calais DC200 and love it, but it is not $500 better than my Revo Inshore or Zillion. Like Salty said, you will have a hard time backlashing it in the wind if it is set correctly and you don't try the extra long setting except on a perfect day. The other plus side is the cool noise it makes when you really zing a good cast.
