the boat I am getting next week has the model before hds8 and the guy wants to save his marked spots for when he buys a new boat, my question is do you know what is required to do this. I was thinkin maybe it was saved on his nav card or is there another way for him to get the info off and if it is on the nav card do you know about what a new card will run me, I know there is a lot to this question but hopefuly you or someone else knows.

I believe they are stored in the unit. All you need is an SD card to copy them. It's very easy.

Let me do a little research and find out what card it takes for sure. If it does use an SD card I can back it up for you and I might have a map card also.

hope its just on the sd card, he has a lot of places marked on Rayburn....:smokin: so I am tryin to get his info so he will have it later or else he wants to keep the unit. He has a nav card in it for the Southern region I belive is what he said, this is all new to me but I want the unit so that later I can get one with side and down imaging and link them.

Sounds like a plan. Let me look it up and get back to you.

If you get the boat will he let you bring it home and then let you transfer the points and give the back to him. I'm sure I can back them up on my laptop and keep yall both happy.

It does use an SD card and I have a few at the house so it will be no problem. Just let me know when you want to do it.

good idea, would hate to loose any of them spots:cool:, I will contact him today and let him know we can take care of the transfer.
I was playing with Crackle and it seems pretty neat, has some good movies for free. Me and my wife have been thinking of getting netflix and if we do my phone will run them.
