Tourney Update and Overview

Hopefully we get to 70 or better we are around 60 right now, only two in the Kayak division and probably 10-15 kids fishing.

We will have raffle tickets at the event like we have in the past, cash only. There will be no food or drinks other than what you bring.

There is no ladies division or prizes for ladies only. The rules and payouts have all been updated. We have trout, youth and kayak, no bonus for live fish. Kayak, winner will take all since only two guys are fishing it and unless 5 or more sign up today we are done with the Kayak division for next year which sucks but it is what it is.

We will raffle off a cooler at the event you have to be present to win and of course have lots of raffle prizes.

Lastly, we will have an online auction like we always do starting next week.

There will not be anyone at the site until about 10:00/11:00 tomorrow. Be in line by 1:00 with your fish or you will not be able to weigh in.

Just go beat up on the men in the regular division that will make it even better.....

If we can get more woman involved I would be happy to do it.

jojo41492 07-31-2015 04:35 PM

I would like to do something to get women involved more! I mean I'm only 23 but its hard to find women who love to fish just as much.

I don't have a spot at the gun show I thought I was going to have. Anybody got a spot on a boat. I might just come out and check out those boats out of Texas.

ckinchen 08-01-2015 09:13 AM

Guess I should have weighed elected to stay and catch redfish instead. 9.1 lbs best 3 and my wife lost at least a 6.5 right at the boat. What took second and 3rd?

ckinchen 08-01-2015 06:49 PM

9.6 I believe and 7.6ish was third.

fonikoddity 08-01-2015 06:52 PM

I'm curious to know what the other kayak division weights were, since only 1st was awarded. Anyone have that info?

Country Boy 08-01-2015 07:27 PM

We finished 2nd but didn't think we would have been near the top with that weight today and compared to the weight we had been catching there but I guess everybody had a tough day from the lil front and full moon.

"W" 08-01-2015 07:31 PM

Good Job fellas, wish I could of fishes this year

Bluechip 08-01-2015 07:55 PM

I saw several kids at the weigh in this year..... As an avid outdoorsman, I was proud to see that.

Kudos to the parents that had their kids in the tournament this year.

neverenuf 08-01-2015 08:33 PM

I wish I could say that was the first time I didn't weigh and should have. Good job to all.

We did not see your entry in the tournament. You were on here begging to try and find some sports when you could have entered the tournament and taken home more prize money than a charter trip.

All the reputable guides have trips booked solid this time of year.

Hahahaha but he has a 24 sketter with a 300 Yamaha that makes the fish jump in the boat.

Still waiting to see a 2015 limit post

southern151 08-02-2015 08:26 AM

Thanks to all of you who came out today. Every person I talked to yesterday(not just tourney people) said the fishing was tough! I always enjoy getting to hang out around my "pretend friends!"

As for the tool who had the comment on how easy that number would be to beat, I never saw you at the scales so, it must be a little harder than you let on!

Top Dawg 08-02-2015 08:30 AM

Haha that dude just can't get right.

Thanks for the results...Ryan Alleman (Marsh Maniyak).

I caught 6 reds but couldn't find anything over 22 inches. Still had fun.

I helped recruit 3 others for the tourney 2 of my coworkers and Devin (the guy who won). He was gonna be fishing big lake and don't even know about the tourney. Told him I get a finders fee! Haha. My coworkers caught similar fish to me 6.07 lbs and 4.8lbs (I think).

Fun event and thanks for having the kayak division. Hope it continues next year. I'll try to post it a little earlier on the LKFC forum to get more participation.
