Marina at Quintana Landing

Did anyone go to the new marina that was just opened at the point this weekend?

Did yall notice the name of it or what they were selling?

I heard a rumor that they were selling live bait trying to see if that was true. I was trying to find it online to give them a call but can't seem to find it anywhere.

I'm pretty sure they sell live shrimp. I know they proud of their merchandise. We were one lifejacket short so I went to buy one and the orange dollar collars were $13. Beer prices aren't too bad though

$13 is actually pretty good, I had to buy one for $20 in Henderson one day...

But yes they do sell live bait, they put a flyer on our truck last weekend. Idk if its shrimp or cocahoes

Any idea what time it opens or do any of yall have a phone number?

They sell shrimp. $0.35 each. Not sure of a number for them. I think the name is dock side

MarshRat89 07-09-2013 12:05 PM

MarshRat89 07-09-2013 12:06 PM

Is it on the right just

before getting to the boat launch?

I found their facebook page. Says it opens at 5:30.

Having some way to get bait out there now should be great. As long as they stay stocked up on supplies and open when they say they are they should make some money.

The rest of the places that have come and gone weren't stocked or ouldn't open until long after people were fishing. Once everyone figures out that you aren't reliable then they have to bring everything with them on the way out and your store becomes only useful for someone staying for the weekend. That's my 2 sense  on the matter.

I wish them well and its sure will be much easier to go get a few things you need there instead of having to run all the way back to Lydia from the camp.

It's located where the Cove Marinia used to be.

Nice to have a store close to the launch. I don't buy live bait the rare occasions I use it drop the trawl for 15 mins. Boom free live bait.

I smell sarcasm......and it makes me laugh

rustyb 07-09-2013 05:02 PM

nope

Montauk17 07-09-2013 05:08 PM

LOL sarcasm or not....what I don't post reports of is the countless trips I make and scratch on trout. I started fishing the bay for trout when i was 16...now I am 27 and just now figuring it out. I spent many days sunup to sundown trying to learn the areas. I think the biggest thing is confidence and keeping you bait wet. I will use live bait when I bring people that don't fish often. But when I fish alone you will never see live bait in my boat. Sometimes they will actually hit plastic over live. Tim,you remember that trip we made to tee butte? Wasted time catching bait get to the spot nothing but sharks and catfish on bait. Switch to sparkle beetles boom trout on.

there was no sarcasm from me. I would LOVE to get some sort of idea about vbay. The only time I have ANY luck in vbay is sept-nov when the trout have moved way in. I live in youngsville, but I end up making the trip to cocodrie or big lake way more than the big beautiful bay that is less than an hour from my front door.

It sure is much easier once we start getting cold fronts, can't wait! The thing I like most is chasing birds. Get a good set of binoculars and hit the ones nobody is fishing. Usually in vbay the trout under the birds are fat,not lil schoolies. Played hooky from work last year a few days my buddy and I caught limits in 2 hours or less, fun when it's on like that.
