Upland Bird Hunt South Dakota

Has anyone been upland bird hunting in South Dakota? I am looking at going this year and trying to shoot a Prairie Chicken. Any information or stories are welcomed. I usually hunt public land so any info is needed.

I went to North Dakota several years ago on a bow hunt. I know SD is known for their birds, ND was full of them also! Guy told us to bring our shotguns to keep us occupied during the middle of the day. Glad we did, it was a blast, pheasants & sharptail grouse were everywhere.

I have hunted for Pheasants, in Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, and North Dakota.

When driving through South Dakota, dead pheasants all over the highway. Not much more info, but I am supose to go this year to SD.
