SELA smokers get together
 
I just want to issue an invite to any of you guys that smoke meat or make sausage an bacon to the 2nd annual smf get together.
When : Oct 28 .29 ,30 , 2011
Where: hackley La. ,About 20 min nw of franklinton La.

This is a family function so wives , girlfriends and kids are welcome.
we have plenty of room for rv's but are out of hookups so you must be self contained. Plenty of tent camping space. Hotels are 20 min away.
Fri night i will be frying oysters ,onion rings and hush puppies .
we will be smoiking some chickens for those who may not eat oysters.
I think we will also have some gator sauce piquant
Sat am , big breakfast. hash brown casserole and homemade swwet rolls.
sat all day will be wings abt's and other snacks coming off the pits.
sat night: big smoked meal. Brisket, butts, rabbit ,Buffalo and we have a guy flying in from the east coast that will be making 40 lbs of various sausages. Will have some wicked beans ,tater salad and asst. other sides.

Sun. Big breakfast w/ sherries garbage grits. Grit casserole w/ left over smoked meats cheese and sausage.

Will have covered area to eat and projection Tv outside for football games. this is a family event but the adults do tend to sit up late around the campfire and toss back a few.
we will provide tea and koolaid for drinking . it's BYOB and sodas.
If you attend and have something you want to throw on the pit , fryer or smoker feel free to bring it.
There is no charge for this event . Donations to help defray the meat cost will be gladly accepted.

I'm going to try and go Saturday. I'm looking at opening a Q restaurant in the next few months and would love to learn some new things from so damn great chefs. Sounds like a hell of a time with a bunch of great people as well.
