Red River Montgomery, La The eggs are not quite ripe but are starting to get blood veins in them. Catching a lot of males also. Also catching a few blue and channel cats with them. It should get better as the spawn gets closer.

We call em spec's up here, or slabs. Fool right now we are running about 50, By next week end we'll have about 100 set. We think the run is just starting up here. It should get really good in about another week. The pic doesn't look to impressive, but it was the morning check. We filled the ice chest the night before and had 2 ice chest friday night. We also had about 7 small Blue cats still in the box. We had one about 10-12 lbs. Blue cat that is...

Nice job, I'll be getting my trot/jug lines ready the next couple of weeks. It's time to put some cats in the boat!!!

QUACKHEAD 01-25-2010 09:22 AM

Man I love chasing jugs. When a catfish sinks a 20oz bottle and you see it go out of site and then pop back up about 30 yards away...

O yea!!!! We were running some one day and a buddy of mine was asking how we could tell when it's a big fish on the line and I told him that when you see that jug go under and come back up down the canal you know you got a good one. The very next jug we were getting close to went straight under and came up about 20 yards down the canal, I thought he was gonna lose his **** lol. I had some awesome pics of some big cats we caught on lines in the marsh but lost them all for Rita when my computer went under water...
