Agree 100000%......I wonder if they at least un chain the deer from the feeder before they shoot it from 10 yards away with a 1k $ scope.....lol

BTW, nice deer.

Finfeatherfur 11-12-2013 07:26 PM

How do you know it's high fence? Looks to me like this deer was in the feeder pen. In Texas, you have to put short fence around your feeders so the deer can jump in and eat corn and not the cows, sheep, pigs on the ranch.

BTW, a deer with no brow tines in my lease is shot on sight!!!! One year with no brow tines is a death sentence.

This is true. I wish we didn't need feed pens but they can sure save a hunt and lots of money from replacing feeders.

Nice deer and good deal on the coyote. Where bouts you hunting?

If all of you high fence haters ever hunt a large hi fence ranch you will see that the hunt is just as challenging as a low fence ranch. The high fence, IMO, keeps yahoos from low fence ranches from shooting 2.5-3.5 yo bucks who have not met their potential. Now a 200-500 acre Hi fence ranch is a pen whereas a 2,000-10,000 acre ranch is just as hard to hunt as a low fence one. Keep hating!

I agree with the large ranches being more fair. I'm not fortunate enough to hunt one. We do manage the 1000 acres we hunt pretty well and are lucky that the surrounding properties not to be hunted hard. There's a high fence ranch bordering us as well. They have those genetically altered deer. Those aren't what I'd consider attractive or desirable .

Exposure does not equal experience, be careful my friend.....seek to understand . Feed peed pens have been around a long time...

SGib 11-13-2013 10:03 PM

I hope your kid gets to bust that deer. Be an awesome buck for a youngster before he gets in rut and spreads them no bral genes. Good luck on the season. I'm 30 miles south of Sonora and ready for a few freezes to bring the big boys outs!!

swt70611 11-14-2013 09:53 AM

Kiddos going with me during the thanksgiving break so hopefully he shows back up for him. Don't need him breeding for sure.
