Touchard Marine in Delcambre can do anything you want with a net but they're about 1.5 hours from Lake Charles.

quack you got a shrimp boat too?

QUACKHEAD 04-29-2010 10:10 AM

Use the same boat as you saw. It's an all around salt water use. Trawl ties to the back tow eye's. I have a culling board that fits over the motor cover and hangs over the back of the boat. No butterflies on it, just a trawl.

when we going i like shrimp?

QUACKHEAD 04-29-2010 11:11 AM

Gotta get the net repaired, then wait on season to open on the west side. I need to find a couple of other places to pull the trawl. Up until last year, it had been 25+ years since doing the salt water stuff in the area. I was out of the state for several years then when I got out of the military I moved up here in Alex area and worked. I am still relearning the Calcasieu area. I have found several area's not to pull the trawl, and still looking on where to pull the trawl with success. But if your game, we'll do it.

One of the best small net trips I witnessed was when my dad was still around, he had a 16 foot wooden hull with a 16 ft net. He drug Holly Beach area and could only do about 10 minutes at a time. The net would be too heavy if he went more. We ended up bringing home about 700 lbs.

Adam I'll give ya a holla when everything comes together.
