nearshore vbay

What's is hitting nearshore or close to southwest pass this time of the month?

Bull reds in the pass, slot reds and flounder in Marsh island, Trout at times in both those places and offshore.

Haven't ran the offshore boat since November, so I will be stretching her legs tom.

Water didn't look bad today.

Bunch of these near Caldwell outside of the pass. We worked our way around Marsh Island yesterday and around the reefs in the pass to find nothing. Went to Caldwell, near that green channel marker where the reef drops from 5 feet to 25 feet. Caught several of these and some blacks as well. Threw back the blacks but kept a few reds.

Had issue with my steering while driving the boat it was too slack had to turn the wheel a lot before the outboards would turn.

Your hydraulic steering fluid level is too low! Add some fluid and you should be good to go!

pathfinder2200 02-09-2015 04:04 PM

Did you do any fishing Howard? Where'd y'all run to? I've been itching myself to get out and burn some gas so I can refuel at these low prices.

Ran out of the point and out toward 6 mile out of the pass. No fishing just making sure the boats good. Water wasn't that muddy at all. Went into Marsh island and seen a fellow offshore boater stuck high and dry. Pulled his boat out and called it a day.
