Epic 22SC?
 

Anybody know anything about these boats? Can't lie, they've got my attention. Looks like a lot of boat for the money. Probably go up on price soon as they get established.

From what ive heard and read you get what you pay for.

Plenty of quality boats out there that don't need "introductory" pricing. I don't think it's to get established, and am with bayou chub - you get what you pay for.

You could buy a better used quality boat ...... If your patient there are some great deals on used boats

Go over to The Hull Truth and search the boating forum. There was a recent thread discussing the Epic Bay Boat. You really need to read that. Buyer beware. There is a reason they are less money.

They gave 2 nice ones in the classified section. That nautic star with 250 yam under 100 hrs. And that key west[emoji106] [emoji570]

I read the hull truth article. If you read the whole article it sounds like someone made so e contrasting negative comments. There was way more good comments made. I agree withy the proven route but sometimes newer and better things come out. I'm sure people were saying the same thing about legend and Phoenix a couple of years ago. Btw, the key west for sale is mine lol. It is a great rig. I'm just thinking of getting something new for once.

My theory is that price range attracts buyers that aren't as privy to what a quality boat is, therefore they have positive results because they just jumped out of a 1999 aluminum or a Carolina skiff. Plus, nobody likes to admit a $40k mistake and that's a fact - too much pride and ego involved

Legend and phoenix were not priced this low compared to the rest of the market.

I Just bought an Epic 22SC. Did months of research before the purchase. I read all the reviews, especially the ones on the Hull Truth. I talked to the man that was the Manager of the factory in Vivian, LA until recently. He was aware of the threads in the Hull Truth, but they were never contacted by anyone that had the described problems for warranty work. In particular, the transom issue one writer referred to. Another said the hull cracked. He said they attempted to contact the persons in the threads and they never replied to their pm's. This man is now a service manager for a dealer that sells competitor boats and I feel he has no reason to lie. They suspected competition was posting negative articles. I Looked up close at a lot of boats and found no reason not to go with the Epic, other than buying a name. I have found nothing short on feature quality (latches, shocks on compartment doors, LED lighting etc). After examining and checking and debating, I started believing the others may be a little over priced. Suggest you check the boats out for yourself and make your own decision. I had to wait almost 6 weeks for delivery because they are back up with production. Good Luck!

115HP is not nearly enough motor on a 22ft boat even if it not a full liner boat.

That boat's. It an option. Actually priced up a frontier and it was less than the epic. Since it cost less does that automatically make it inferior to the epic lol? I see where y'all are going and agree to a certain extent. If I had to pull the trigger on a new one today it would probably be the frontier. Now, go help sell my boat and bike (both listed in classifieds) so I can buy a new boat and give reports lol.

I saw a all black hull 22 epic with the T top with the black etec 250 on the back the other day in shark bayou. It was NICE!

Frontiers don't handle big waves well. Go with epic

I have a different opinion on this statement. Frontier boats do great in the waves.

I fished out some 21 22 foot boats and the frontier was a better dryer ride by far. 😎

My frontier is on the way! Should be here next week.

I too am looking at new boats. How much could i get a 21 foot frontier for ballpark? The only options that i need are a big motor and an Atlas jack plate. The rest ill take care of myself.
