Captain's License

Guys
Anyone have any information about acquiring a Captain's License? I think the 6pk license would be what I would want to get. How much does it cost? How difficult is it to get? Any information would be great. Thanks

Been thinking about that myself. Have to pass a course. Given by Coast Guard. One in New Orleans. Need 3 people to verify so many hours on the water for past 3 years. I put up a website later for you. [emoji41]

I did a little looking into it...there were some good detailed explanations of the process on the web. But I could be wrong (if its on the internet it must be true....right?) but it costs about $4k to get it all done the first time. Class, test, hours certification, physical, coast guard and state licenses, and insurance.

The U. S. Coastguard issues the license regardless of where you get it at. At there website, list the necessary requirements. You don't need a boating course. Be careful about high dollar advertisement course's. You can download all the forms you need right from the Coastguard website. [emoji631]

You can do the testing and course online now, but will still need a physical, drug test, twic card, sea time forms, cpr card, etc.
