Lacassine Wildfire?
I heard a rumor that there was a fire in the refuge that burned about 2,000 acres...supposedly it was west of the field lottery unit to Lacassine Bayou.
Anyone know anything else about this?

Marsh needs to burn every other year or so, it will come back better than before.

I dont think it was prescribed...friend of mine heard it from a Wildlife management person who said they were fighting it. Just trying to get more info as all. You figure something like this would have warranted some sort of media coverage.

Marsh catches fire every year, mainly from lightening strikes, and most people never notice it

It was a wildfire. One my best buds is a firefighter out there.
