I would like to know how the headlines would read if C Kyle was still alive.

1fastmerc 07-30-2014 12:48 PM

That is sickening.

Maybe something along the lines of "Deadliest sniper in US history claims one more!":smokin:

If his reputation wasn't trashed enough already, I think this pretty much did it. I hope he enjoys that $1.8 million he took out of the hands of people who deserve it. I think Marcus Luttrell pretty much hit the nail on the head with how people will now view Ventura..............

I put him and rosie odonnel in the same bucket, pure trash both of em.

I hope some day for the chance to spit on them or celebrate their deaths.

from what I gather the only reason he won was kyle had no witness on his side to confirm the events happened so even though there was a room full of witnesses no one came forward to defend kyles account

Apparently they did not testify in court, but there were witnesses who came forward in Kyle's defense.

hate to admit it but the jury did the right thing because if no one will say in court that "yes it happened and I was there" then the POS argument that kyle made claims about V he could not prove were true. it is a valid claim and the jury followed the law so I don't fault the jury here.

yes if you went by emotion they shouldn't have done it but they did their job as instructed and made a judgement based on the law saying you need to show proof if you make unflattering claims about someone else.

mriguy 07-31-2014 11:32 AM

Jury could have sided with Ventura on the claim and awarded $0

Matt G 07-31-2014 11:38 AM

Has anyone ever been on the jury for a civil trial? I have not, but I heard that depending on the jury instructions given, that could basically tie the jury's hands on the outcome. Anybody care to shed some light? There has to be a few REAL attorneys on here.

From my understanding, he never used his real name in the book.

If getting your butt kicked in a bar fight is worth $1.8m, I sure wish I had known this years ago!:work:
