MotorGuide Greatwhite 82 lb problems

I have a motorguide great white that goes in reverse when in forward or reverse. I suspect the control board in the top but I am having trouble finding parts online or local. Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance.

from what I saw when researching buying one the circuit board is the most common part to fail and it does do things like stay on full thrust or go in the wrong direction.

google the nearest warranty repair shop near you and they can get you the parts or fix it for you.

if your looking to source it yourself I find its easier to find it under mercury part numbers because mercury rebadges the motorguide motors and keeps parts in stock a lot longer then motorguide does.

I just bought a boat with the same motor. I haven't had any issues, but I ready to switch to a Minn kota. The tilting and extending tiller would be a great improvement.

I just had to fix my motorguide mother board but I got lucky that someone had the identical motor they were throwing away. I found no where to buy the part.

What year is yours? I couldnt find a motherboard pre '99

They one I have is about six years old, I have usually ran minn kota. I wanted to try the motorguide great white, its been a good unit till now. I tore it down today, I did not find any smoking guns but there is only circuit boards in the foot nothing in the head. I found a guy in beaumont that has parts in stock. I hope he can test these before I buy new parts.

The only part up top in the head is a small rheostat.
