Toledo Bend help

Looking to take the kids camping and get them on some fish before school starts. Does anyone have any suggestions of where to go? They are 3 and 6 so just looking for somewhere with a fish feeder or some other sure-fire way to get the on some fish.

We have a toy-hauler camper and bass boat so we can go just about anywhere. I have only been to the reservoir 3 times and it was all for spawning bass, so I don't have much knowledge of the surroundings. Do have good maps and a HDS-9T with the right mapping software to get around.

If they get worn out enough I can maybe leave them with my wife and slip away for to try to catch a few myself. Love to have them all on the boat with me but unless we are catching pretty regular the kids attention span is, well, a kids attention span.

This time of year go under Lanan bridge at night and catch as many white bass and bar fish as you can take , makes a great trip for kids and the women bc it's not hot plus sometimes 200 + fish a night and they taste great

Lanan Bridge is 191, correct? White Spinnerbait and silver spoon? Is it just as good early in the night as late at night? Don't know how long they can stay awake and not be grumpy...

Thanks for the info.

Yes 191 and we throw bitsy minnows the little crank baits by strike king and yes sometime right at dark it gets good all depends on the fish but by midnight if they there you'll be tired of unhooking em

Should be good this weekend with the full moon. Buy some shiners and let the kids have at it. On another note... the bass (both white and largemouth) have been schooling right before sundown.

Pendleton bridge is another spot you can try that will produce fish. There are several brush piles along the bridge both TX and LA side.

Thanks for all the tips. We will head out tomorrow morning.
Anyone camp at Pendleton Bridge Marina? That's the only campground I see around there.
As far as the bitsy minnows, any particular color this time of year? I was thinking Sexy Shad and Tennessee Shad.

The brush piles, what depth should I be looking for them on my sonar?

Most people target 14-22 ft of water for brush piles. PM sent.
