move to Lafayette if you enjoy 3 hour trips to the grocery store and spending time in a stationary vehicle.

Actually Lafayette is probably the only larger sized city in La. that I would consider living in. Although it's getting a bit too big IMHO. :cool:

It literally takes me 5 minutes to get to Rouses, 5 minutes to Lowes, 5 minutes to Lafayette Shooters, 10 minutes to academy and maybe 15 minutes to downtown Lafayette. The traffic can get bad but is not as bad as people think. I love living in Lafayette.

Clearly those examples are not during rush hour traffic. Both of my kids live in Lafayette. Try Amb Caff from Congress to Academy during 5 o'clock traffic. And let's not talk about Holiday season! :) But I get what you're saying, select areas in town are manageable.
