Opening Weekend Turkeys

I know we got a few turkey hunters on here, so did anybody kill or see anything this weekend? Me, I'm stuck at work

I was wanting to see some pics and reports also.

Where we hunt on the east side of the state is still under water.

That's what I was checking for too. We're headed up next weekend.

Heading to North Alabama first week in April. Gonna try for one with a gun and one with a bow. Big Eastern Turkeys up there.

Beautiful birds Perchman, what kind of choke is that? I'm thinking about getting a Jelly head choke by Primos.

Lock jaw!!!

Good job!!

I like a kicks choke .665 or a wad wizard. The best thing I have found is those Winchester long beard shells. Make sure if you get them in 3 inch look for the 2 oz load. They seem to do better than 1 3/4 load but not much so if that is all you can find they are great to. I shoot both with great results.

Nice birds. Damn pot that bird has a fine set of hooks. I've killed a few with great beards but have never got one with a great set of hooks like that. Congrats on a fine bird. Everyone.

Pat Babaz 04-06-2016 01:12 AM

Man that's the biggest set of spurs I ever saw on a turkey! Awesome triple beard too! Some kind of fan/spur/beard mount on a plaque would look great. Congrats

Nice hooks and displays!

Almost cried the other day. My GSP was in the house and got a hold to some nice paint brush beards and chewed them to shreds!

Yep that'll piss you off. The wifes daschund got ahold of a set of my spurs and chewed them all to hell. My fault for leaving them out but it still sucks. I still have that paintbrush beard though and luckily don't have that damn dog anymore.

Nice bird right there... I see those ferns...was he killed in the basin? Oh, and that turkey chair...won't hunt without them.
