OVERVIEW
Join us Saturday, July 25th at the new Leeville Public Boat Launch for the LA 1 Slamboree sponsored by Pack & Paddle, Duce Rods, Academy, Buggs Fishing, H&H lures, Abita Beer, Fish the Bayou, and K2 coolers. Tournament entry fee is $45 or $50 (if you choose to participate in the optional Trout Calcutta) and participation is open to the public.

CATEGORIES
REDFISH, TROUT, & FLOUNDER STRINGER - Heaviest stringer shall consist of a maximum of 1 each: Slot Redfish (16" min. and UNDER 27"), Speckled Trout (12" min), and Flounder (12” min). Catch all 3 species and receive a 2lb bonus to the total string weight.
LEOPARD REDFISH (Included in Entry): Slot Redfish with the most spots (counting on both sides) wins a Kayak-TBA courtesy of PNP.
OPTIONAL CALCUTTA ($5): Heaviest Speckled Trout wins pot.
NOTE: No fish shall be used for more than 1 category

SERIES
The LA1 Slamboree is the 3rd of 6 events as part of the 2015 Cajun Kayak Angler Series. Earn and accrue points for weighing fish & win big prizes or cash. The Angler of the Year wins a Hobie Outback, compliments of Pack & Paddle and Hobie. Learn More...

EVENT RULES
It is every angler’s responsibility to understand and abide by all rules listed below as well as the club's "Series Rules" here:
1. ENTRY: $45 (+ $1.25 via PayPal) - Entry fee breakdown: $20 goes to Tournament Pot, $5 to AOY Series Pot, $5 to a donation split between Launch Leeville & Friends of Grand Isle (FOGI) kayak launch, and $15 to Long Sleeve Dri-Fit Tournament T-shirt (for Early Bird Registration on or before July 4th - After July 4th, this $15 will be split between Launch Leeville & FOGI kayak launch donations).
2. OPTIONAL CALCUTTA: $5 (+ $1.25 via PayPal) entry into side pot for Heaviest Speckled Trout. Winner takes the entire side pot. If you wish to participate in the Optional Calcutta, you must sign-up for the Calcutta at the same time you sign-up for your single tournament entry.
3. REGISTRATION: Open to public until Thurs. July 23, 11:59pm. EARLY BIRD SPECIAL - Sign-up on or before July 4th & receive a Long Sleeve Dri-Fit Tournament shirt with your registration.
4. LEGAL LAUNCH TIME: 5:30 a.m. (you may sit in kayak/in water before 5:30 am, but may not depart or fish until 5:30 a.m.)
5. LAUNCH BOUNDARIES: Hwy 1 from Golden Meadow south to Elmers, Fourchon, and Grand Isle. The northern boundary launch is Golden Meadow Boat Launch located at 305 Oakridge Dr Golden Meadow, LA 70357. Southern boundary is to the S end of Hwy 1.
6. ACCEPTABLE TACKLE: Artificial Tackle Only
7. LEGAL FISHING TIME: 5:30a.m. - 3 p.m.
8. SIGN-IN: Anglers must sign-in between 2 - 3 p.m. at the Leeville Public Boat Launch.
9. WEIGH-IN: Leeville Public Boat Launch, 3 PM. No culling at the weigh table. Have your fish ready to weigh when called upon. You must weigh-in fish to receive series points.
10. LEGAL STRINGER: Calculated by the total weight of up to 3 species. The 3 fish allowed are: Slot Redfish (16" min and UNDER 27") / Speckled Trout (12" min) / Flounder (12" min) 1 max of each species. Anglers who weigh all 3 (1 Red, 1 Trout, 1 Founder) are rewarded with a 2# bonus added to their weight. Anglers who weigh less than 3 do not receive the bonus. Here are 2 examples:
Angler #1 Ex:
1) REDFISH: 3#
1) SPECKLED TROUT: 4#.
1) FLOUNDER- 1#
Total Weight: 3+4+1+2# Bonus= 10#

Angler #2 Ex
1) REDFISH: 7#
1) SPECKLED TROUT (or Flounder): 5
#Total Weight=12#
*Weighing illegal fish (in accordance with Louisiana Wild Life and Fisheries Laws) will result in DQ.
11. LEOPARD REDFISH- Total spots on an entered Slot Redfish. Redfish must be 16” min and Under 27". Anglers may enter 1 redfish which may not be used in the Heavy Stringer category. Weigh-master will count spots on both sides. The angler with the most spots wins the Kayak.
12. PAYOUTS: Cash
Top 3 w/ < 40 anglers (the following percentages: 50 / 30 / 20)
Top 5 w/ 40+ anglers (the following percentages: 40 / 27.5 / 17.5 / 10 / 5)
Top 10 w/ >125 anglers (the following percentages: 30 / 23 / 16 / 10 / 6 / 4 / 3.5 / 3 / 2.5 / 2)
13. DOOR PRIZE DRAWINGS: Anglers must be present at the weigh-in to win a Door Prize. If an angler places in the money for the tournament, then he/she is not eligible for door prizes. Prizes include: Buggs Fishing Lure package, Academy Gift Cards, H&H Bait bags, 2 - 20qt K2 coolers, and 2 Duce Rods!

To all who plan on fishing this be aware of Land Owners who will run you out of the Marsh along HWY 1, happened to me and my group Fathers Day on East Side of HWY 1 before Fourchon. Guy was nice about it but made it clear to not return.

Yeah, we announce to everyone that there are def boundaries for private waters. We will be posting a map that outlines the Public/Private areas so we don't run into any issues. We are well over $1200 IN PRIZES ALONE!!!!!!!! NOT INCLUDING THE CASH PAYOUTS!!!! Remember that the prizes raffled off are strictly for everyone that did not place in the money. So you have a chance to win prizes and get a awesome fishing shirt for only $51!!!!! These are high quality shirts that a few of our committee members fish with personally and love them.

UPDATE - Weigh-in location changed to Top Water Marina (Old Bobby Lynn's) in Leeville, LA.

Also, just confirmed - the Kayak we are giving away for the Leopard Redfish category (included in your entry fee) is a Native Slayer 14.5 (courtesy of Pack and Paddle).

Making all these lures and getting the LA1 Slamboree Special tackle box of lures
together has given me a new itch!!! I need to get out there and do some fishing!!!

I just made 200 all new Speckanater Buzz corks!! They look great and cant wait to fish them!!
