Blazer Bay 2400
 

Does anyone own one of these boats? How does it ride in rough water? How is the quality of construction and components etc etc...? Any info would be great.

Can't speak on the ride quality but I understand they are built very well.

Never owned one but fished out of one a good bit in Venice. Well built & good ride. Sweet boat!

rode in a 20fter before... good dry ride well built boats. I was looking at a 2400 pro but it got sold before I got to check it out. So I got a triton instead

Triton would be my first choice, but the financial situation puts the BB 2400 at the top of the list. Also it just seems like less hassle with a boat that is laid out so simply. I kinda like the whole nothing fancy idea, just get in and FISH!

By the way...I am talking about the rolled edge boat not the lined hull boats.

I have the 2220 profesional. It is the lined boat.I really like the boat runs and handles great. I can get 62 with a 250 HPDI. Only problem is that the front is light. Only way it runs good in rough water is with the trim tabs down. But I would trade running trim tabs in rough water for the speed the boat has.

Fished out of one in Grand Isle and it was a very dry boat and rode great. I also like the basic design.

Looking at a brand new one? If you are looking at a lined boat i would go with a path finder even if its a few years old. I have not heard anything about blazer bay but I have heard and have fished out of a pathfinder and have nothing but great things to say about it. If you talk your self into maybe looking at a rolled edge boat the Trans XLR8 and the Hayine HO would be a good choice.

I dont know weather i will look into a new or used...depends on the boat and the price...I do like the pathfinders and the haynies a lot but I also like the deeper front v and the deadrise of the BB 2400...and similarly the Key West 246 Bay Reef.

Make sure there is no wood in the boat, what ever u do.

I have a 2420 Pro, excellent riding boat, very dry and smooth in choppy water. I would recommend this boat to anyone. No wood is correct. Excellent storage, rod boxes and live well. This is a liner boat, on a similar hull design as the 2400...I did look and ride in a few boat before my purchase, the Pathfinder is a good boat, however Blazer bay was far more superior in design, more stainless steel rod holders and all composite hull.
