Boats at Washout last Friday.

So I have to ask. Was the action so hot in washout last friday morning that all of the 25 boats I counted were catching or was it a classic "if they stopped they catching so was stopping" situation. We made a run south into West cove and I've honestly never seen so many boats stacked so close together. Just curious if anyone was part of the group.

I know 2 and 3 weeks ago the action was good there for trout, 3 weeks ago I was there way before sun rise, me and one other boat was there just before sunrise the number increased to 12 14 with in 30-45 mins. The bite was good till about 10

2 weeks ago I cruised by there about 7a (got a late start) and it was packed, so there musta been some action

Ill be there fri sat, I have no plans on going that far south this time

Ive been catching in that area lately. Trout have been in that area. Lots of birds working in Joe's Cove, and West Cove too.

Is Joe's cove shallow, never been in there. I'd like to start mapping That area

It can get shallow on a low tide especially with a northern wind but most of the lake is like that isn't it!!

I know this past weekend we went all over the lake and the water didn't start tasting salty until around joe's

STAR Tournament...

The area may not be "hot" but Lots of people fish that area looking for 1 big trout

Its just like everywhere else around Big Lake. Its about 3 ft deep but there are shallow spots.

You can find GPS locations on a rival forum if you just Google search something like "Popular Fishing Spots on Calcasieu Lake". This rival forum isn't really a rival but I don't think Salty will even let me mention it.
