need advice on fiberglass

I'm looking to purchase a used fiberglass bay boat. I found one that I love but with just one concern. It has a nasty chip in front. I don't no much about this damage so any help will be very appreciated and any other advice on fiberglass boats. How severe is this? Would you walk away or not a big deal?

glass boats

Very first thing before you purchase a used glass boat is have good fiberglass repair guy inspect the whole boat. Then have a good mechanic check out the motor. I almost missed a soft spot on bottom of a blazer bay boat I perched last year. My glass guy caught it and saved me $3,000.

it wont be a problem at all if you are capable of doing the work.

Was it an older blazer bay? The newer hulls are all composite hulls so I don't undersand how it could have a $3000 soft spot.

That's not too bad of a spot, I would thouroughly inspect the hull for any additional damage though.

X2 this is great advice here. I had to do a lot more work on my rebuild and having a good glass guy with me would have saved me a lot of work. lesson learned on that.
