Arkansas Mountain Cabin Vacation

There was a thread a couple of months ago that I can't seem to find any more. Looking for suggestions for a cabin/mountain/lake experience in Arkansas... something similar to the Tennessee (Pigeon Forge) area with a little shorter drive.

If someone can direct me to that thread that would be cool too.

Thanks

Wait till Marty F heads to Big Lake then run up there and enjoy yourself. Don't forget, no need to clean up behind yourself. LOL

Where Exactly do you want to go/do? I might be able to help you out. We are building a house up in NC AR near the white river bull shoals area

It is for a friend looking for a cabin/lake/mountain view area similar to the Gatlinburg area in Tennessee. He wants to take his wife for a weekend trip for their anniversary but didn't want to make the 12 hour drive up that way. I remembered the thread just a couple of months ago about this exact same thing so I was trying to find it. I directed him to Petit Jean State Park.

have him google lake de gray lake Catherine and lake Oua-c-h-t-a, (filter thinks Im say SHI*) all these places are with in 4 hrs of where I live (just south of Shreveport)

You can go even further north to table rock lake near Harrison, AR and Branson MO, but that's 6 hrs (from me) if they are looking for time on the river google white river cabins or buffalo river state park. again 6 hrs from me. I see cabins up there all the time but never notice names and numbers for I have my own place to stay, sorry

google "LongBow" in Arkansas. It is two cabins that Ben Pearson used to use for bow hunting. There are in the back end of a blind canyon. One has a waterfall. Very private and very secluded.

We stayed at 5 points lodge on Lake Hamilton in Hot Springs Arkansas. Its only about 6 hrs drive from Lake Charles. The Ou****a Mountains are really just big foothills compared to the Rockies or the Smokies but it is still very pretty country.
