Garmin echo map 94sv

Anyone know anything about this unit? We are buying a Nautic Star and they will only factory install Garmin's, so I an trying to find a decent one with side scan. Any pointer will definitely help as I had already picked out a simrad nss7 evo2 before I found out they wouldn't factory install and I'd have to pay quite a bit extra for my dealer to install it.

Garmins are a good unit, easy to use. I have the echo map 74dv in my new boat

I installed this unit in my boat last month. I've used it a couple of times but am definitely still learning. So far I can tell you that the screen is very sharp and clear and bright enough to see in daylight. The side scan is awesome but it's the only side scan I've seen so I have nothing to compare with it.
Overall I'm happy with it.

Jeremy,
I installed the 74sv on my boat about a month ago. You can come play with mine and see if you like it. Once you figure it out you can teach me how to use it. Haha

From the few trips I have made with it is pretty easy to navigate the screens but I am still trying to learn to decipher the sonar images.

Sweet. And Jude that's you right!? You're going to have to bring us because after today we are without the bay boat

That's me. Your dad told me that y'all had a buyer for your boat. I know you have to be excited about getting a bigger boat.

I have the 94sv. I'll echo the the responses above. It is a great unit and easy to use. I'm still learning how to read the side imgaing. I recommend it.

The transducer is a beast. A bit bigger than I expected.
