Houston Boat Show

Going tomorrow. Leaving around 9:00 AM and getting lunch on the road.
Show starts at 1 PM. Need to leave Houston no later than 3:30 PM so
we don't get stuck in traffic.
$10 to get in door.
If anyone wants to ride, let me know.

jlincecum 01-09-2012 06:35 PM

you're going all the way over there to spend 2 hours in the show???? you wont make it past the third booth

Ray 01-09-2012 06:42 PM

I go every year. All I need is about 2 to 3 hours.
Not looking to buy, looking only.
1/3 of the floor is RV's.
1/3 is pleasure boats.
Small % is jewelery and food booths.
I like the fishing show better.
More geared towards fishing and fishing boats.

I know how its laid out. No way in hell I could spend just 2 hours in there.

PaulMyers 01-10-2012 02:24 AM

Josh, when are you going to be back in town?

We went on Sunday, nothing new that caught my eye. They need more duck boats.

I went Sunday as well.......same layout out as last year.

BORING!!!!

It was o.k., but I'd rather see boats and fishing at a boat show.
RV's are not my thing, but if it sells, they gonna put it in there.

I seen a Yellowfin like that on Pleasure Island, in the Sabine.
Think it was last year. Looked at it at the Houston Boat Show.
That drug runner boat was pretty cool the way their throttles
were set up. They were on the arm rest, instead of on the
console. Nice set up on the helm chairs and controls.

skeeter77346 01-12-2012 08:49 PM

That would have been me on Sabine - Got it one year ago.
Only 2 YF 21s in Texas - mine, and a black one in Corpus with a 300 Merc owned by Glenn Watts, a former Sterling 220XS owner...

I have friends who live on Pleasure Island. We were going there by boat when we saw it.
You live there or have a camp there?

We were there from 1 pm to 4:30 pm.
Could have stayed longer, but I can't stand traffic.
And it was hard enuff keeping Chris from slobbering all over the new boats in there.
His wife owes me. I saved him from buying a new boat from LMC.

This BlueWave was actually my personal favorite boat at the show. It's a special edition made for Mt. Houston Marine and the interior is battleship gray.
They also had a few new versions of the 25' Majek that had liners in them with rod storage - didn't even get the price on them as I am sure they weren't cheap.

Ray 01-12-2012 09:10 PM

Most of the Majaks we saw had boat show prices on them.

I was only going to buy the boat because he was going to give me the GPS spot of the big trout. Plus I like the boat also.
