Chantix

I just started on my first day of Chantix. I've heard about alot of side effects relating to taking this. Does anyone have any experience taking it. Been smoking for 15 years and figured its time to quit.

Salty 06-21-2011 08:36 PM

I took Chantix so long tryin' to quit...I got hooked on it. :smokin: Expect some weird dreams. I dreamed one night that W went to an LSU game.

"W" 06-21-2011 08:37 PM

Salty went crazy......every time OU lost he got ban..........dont do it..........

Dink 06-21-2011 08:38 PM

southern151 06-21-2011 09:13 PM

Chantix worked for me for months. Wanna take it with food, otherwise you'll hurt like hell! Dreams are weird but, the rest some claim never happened with me.

fishmaster911 06-21-2011 09:34 PM

It work for me ! Been six months of smoke free ! I only took one month a
of it, never had any dreams and don't recall of any side effects !

Sea-Trac Offshore 06-21-2011 10:45 PM

Been smoking since I was 16 and just quit this past Jan 1st at 34. Just have the want to quit and you can do it. I just quit cold turkey and said it was enough. Now I just need to lose this weight I gained. Good luck man.

Congrats, Barrett. The reason I couldn't quit is probably exactly like you said...I don't want to. I just don't know how to want to.

Ber2u 06-22-2011 01:52 AM

Im going to try and quit on the first month. Found out neither of my insurances cover it and at $175.00 a month that could get expensive.

booyagasha 06-22-2011 01:58 AM

Wish it was cheaper...

Dink 06-22-2011 06:29 AM

Investment!! You'll save money in the long run

SaltyShaw 06-22-2011 06:36 AM

Whar dink said, just think about how much you spend in cigarettes every month i know i prolly drop a bill or so if not more every month on cigs, if i got to pay an extra 75 to help quit ill try it. Cant put a price on your health, thats a fact!

adamsfence 06-22-2011 06:43 AM

You remind me of my wife. She counts every one I smoke. :pissed:

Big Flounder 06-22-2011 07:28 PM

How much does this stuff run? I have been wanting to quit.

Salty 06-22-2011 08:00 PM

I took a :smokin: class and got mine for $6. At a pharmacy it's about $130.

Ber2u 06-22-2011 11:11 PM

I paid 175.00

specksNdaSURF 06-23-2011 08:32 AM

it will help...i took it and exprienced some bad dreams and mood swings....i quit for about 21/2 months and started again. I'm thinking bout getting back on it.

Ber2u 06-23-2011 09:22 AM

Well its my third day on it. Must be a mental thing. I've only smoked maybe 3 cigs total since the begining. But I must say these dreams are really vivid. Kind of entertaining. I just can't tell my wife about them.lol

:rotfl: Yeah you right! As far as the mental part, I experienced the same thing. Coming up to my quit date, I was nervous as heck but, by the time I got to it, I really didn't have any cravings.

BassAssasin 06-23-2011 10:32 AM

does this stuff work with snuff as well?

jchief 06-23-2011 10:52 AM

BassAssasin 06-23-2011 11:14 AM

I agree with Salty 100%. If you don't want to quit, it will not work.

eman 07-06-2011 11:15 AM

Before you start chantix Please google the new studies that were released
the first week of july.
They show a very big increase in the chance of heart problems for chantix users.

PUREBAY2200 07-06-2011 05:18 PM

Just read that online then wafb news talked bout it.....

I have a friend who is high up with pfizer........ He said that it's not looking good.

southern151 07-06-2011 06:22 PM

Funny. They prescribed chantix to my dad after his heart attack!

Ber2u 07-14-2011 09:38 AM

any oddball dreams?

fishmaster911 07-17-2011 08:45 PM

Today makes 6 months of being smoke free thanks to chantix !

Time to Fish 07-18-2011 07:54 AM

Watch the Chantix with high blood pressure, my buddies wife used it with success but had to watch her blood pressure. I quit cold turkey 16 months ago after 33 years and I do not feel a damn bit better. Gained about 24 pounds but I wanted to quit and was sucessful. Good Luck!

Ber2u 07-18-2011 10:53 AM

Dreams are pretty cool. More vivid than normal. But no other side effects.
