You mean Teal Season...:D

Hoping we have some weather this year....a lot of fronts which should bring and move the ducks around. I am also picking up a new lease in Pecan Island - North Side of Highway 82 land backs up to White Lake. Plus keeping the lease I already have South of Kaplan.

North side of 82 is usually very good!! You should have a good year.

Do any of y'all hunt calcasieu river? Is it still all public? Figure if I'm bringing the boat to fish this winter may as well hunt.

Haven't hunted it in years.

I have a house 2 miles from the Calcasieu river Moss Bluff public boat launch, I don't hunt it. I'm not in to confrontations at 4:30am.....

Lol! Sounds like not much has changed!! I have noticed those the last few years when I'm down there skiing during the summer. We used to hunt watermelon bay. It still armageddon in there on the woodies?

I'm just not sure about where all else is complete public down there. I may just fish, we'll see. One good thing about where I'm at in TX now, not many duck guys. Most places there is maybe 1 or 2 other trucks at the launch!

Few teal starting to show up in my marsh in east creole

neverenuf 08-21-2017 12:11 PM

Saw 3 groups of 20-30 teal flying last Sunday early when I was at the Lake Charles Gun Club.

neverenuf 09-10-2017 07:28 PM

Decent numbers of teal at my lease in Nome, TX for the opener this weekend. Could easily have been a dozen a day both days.

gwilliams 09-10-2017 08:05 PM

We went to the Duck lease today and cleaned blinds. Saw 1000's of blue wing. Thornwell, La. is full of teal.
