Garden problems ?

picture of small cukes and they look like somebody burned them with a ighter ...
squash was about 4 inches long and some of them are drying up. I have sprayed with a bayer garden spray but might not be strong enough. Lack of moisture ? or a stinging wasp?

So last year I had this issue with my raised bed garden. I dumped different layers of soil types and I got bloom rot on the end. Bushes would be loaded with baby squash and 8-9/10 would die. I read that it was caused by various moisture contents in the soil layers. Note to self...blend the soil. Don’t have topsoil, manure, and potting soil in different layers. Ensure that it is mixed through out.

Not sure about the cukes but to help with blossom end rot add some powdered milk to the soil around the area before seeding and / or spray the plant and fruit with a diluted milk spray while the squash are growing.

Crazy watering schedules and lack of calcium aren't good for squash, tomatoes, etc...

If you don't have milk antacid tablets like Tums with calcium carbonate and egg shells work as well.

Lime is Cheap form of Calcium Carbonate and will break down slowly throughout the growing season.

Lack of calcium or you have calcium and not enough nitrogen to let the plant pick up on the calcium . Last year I tried extra nitro. and no luck so I got some calcium this year and tilled in and 1 zuke plant giving all me and my wife can eat...
