Tundra Gas Mileage Video

Thought I would make a video driving from NOLA to Fourchon yesterday. I reset the gas Mileage and let it run. This included a stop at McDonald's drive thru...

You drove from New Orleans to Fourchon and never went over 70mph. Very impressed

goldenrod 08-13-2015 10:04 AM

I had a 2010 Tundra and never made over 15.

It's tough, but when I'm not in a hurry, it can be done.

I can't say for sure, but I think the supercharger helps.

It may. Is there any chance that the odometer and speedometer could be off due to your larger tires giving the computer a false reading? If not good for you. That's a strong mpg number.

B-Stealth 08-13-2015 02:42 PM

Wow, that's very impressive for a Tundra, the mpg goes downhill quickly after 75mph but that's most any trucks.

Man how do you like that supercharger I bet that's a whole lot of fun? I can see the supercharger helping mpg when accelerating or passing.

Yes but lager tires will give you a false lower speedometer reading, based off past experience my guess would be about 5mph off.

Ex. Speedo shows 70 but really doing 75.

My old Isuzu Trooper with 31" Swampers (tires were actually 33")
was really going 78 when the speedo read 70. I confirmed those numbers with handled GPS and a speeding ticket going down 210 bridge.

Odometer matches the GPS pretty well. I should also add though, that because of the supercharger, I am required to run 93 Octane. I know that is helping out as well.

The Supercharger is amazing. I really love playing with cars and diesel trucks that think they're fast.

Im getting 20mpg in my 5.7 if i stay at 70mph and this is hand calculated. I had a 2013 but this 2015 is getting better mpg.
