Big Lake Trout-A-Thon

Bolton Ford and Lake Charles Tackle will be hosting the 1st Annual Big Lake Trout-A-Thon on Saturday, May 12, at Calcasieu Point Landing. Registration may be completed at either business location, with an entry fee of $100 per team, maximum of two people per team.

Music, food and drinks will be provided. Adult teams will consist of division ages 13 and up, and a youth division for kids 12 and under. Teams will weigh their two best trout with added live-weight bonuses.

Bolton Ford will give away a 2012 Ford F-150 Super Crew XLT 4x4 if a Big Lake record trout is caught. 1st place prize of $3,000 cash with 20 places paid, and Shimano rod & reel combos will be awarded. The official trout weigh-in will begin at 2:00 pm and will serve as a commencement to the afternoon festivities.

could a boat have 2 adults for the adult team and also have a kid fishing in boat for the kid prizes ?

Unfortunately, full-time guides are not allowed to participate. Our goal was to make the playing field as fair as possible for all others.

Homerun, kids are welcome to fish with adults. Any fish that is caught by a youth angler will count toward the youth weigh-in. Kids will weigh a single fish whereas adults will weigh their best two.

Sounds like its gonna be a good time!

Thanks for the response. Ill be there and sounds like gonna be a great time and tournament. Good time of year for big fish to weigh in.

That's what I was thinking wasn't gonna say it tho lol

Shaw you work offshore, so your not full time. Full time would be someone like HR&G guides, BL Guide service, etc. You should be fine my friend.

Wish I could make this. Will be a big event.
