It's a fuel treatment/stabilizer for gas. It prevents most of the ethanol problems like separation of the alcohol and fuel and it breaks down the water that may get in the tank.

Where do I get this??

Wal-Mart, Academy and West Marine have it for sure. I'm sure some of the boat dealers carry it also.

You have to go with that blue sta-bil, it's at walmart. It's made for marine use and ethanol

Ray 10-14-2009 11:57 AM

Sta-bil makes one just for boats that may have ethanol problems.
I belong to a boating forum called http://www.boatered.com/forum/, not a fishing forum.
They have a lot of discussions and issues on there about ethanol.
There are always some salesman pushing their spam, but overall, it has some good discussion on ethanol in boats.
I am more worried about it on my old Chris Craft. It is old and the ethanol can eat up a lot of older engine parts and hoses that are not designed for it.
Ethanol will also clean out the tanks and hoses and that will plug up filters.

What if you use your boat once a week or every other week. Do you think you really need to add this treatment to your fuel????

It's your call. If you use it that often you probably don't need to add it but I would just in case.
