Took the Kayak up the Amite yesterday evening and camped out on the beach. she handled great. very comfortable to ride. does real good with tracking and stability. Overall I am definitely satisfied and would recommend the Tarpon 120 to anyone interested.

no fish though

Is there a boat launch close to that beach? Is the river deep there?

fishinpox 05-23-2011 09:16 PM

That's a drinking river not a feeshin river

You made that trip solo? Man I bet that was peaceful little adventure!

evidrine 05-24-2011 08:31 AM

Looks like a good place to load up the canoe and go camping. Might have to try that out.

Id rather put in at magnolia beach and go down current. I've fished at magnolia beach going up makes for a easy ride back.
