Tax return question

It's that time again! I've been using the same person for a long time now and can't help but feel like I should/could be getting back way more than I do. Who do you guys use or recommend in the Lafayette area??

If you have a simple return it should not matter who does your taxes it should come out the same, but if you have business that's different you should get a CPA,i just use H&R Block,I know how to do taxes myself but I rather someone else do it.

It's that dang Oboma taking away all your overtime $$.

If you don't have any really off the wall situations then just use Turbotax. I use it and it's super easy. I even have two rental properties and it does all the deductions and depreciation amounts for me.

If you usually just do a standard 10-40 form then it's a breeze.

I hate the freakin H&R Block commercials that say...It's refund season!!

I had the same problem as you. I switched to stacey singleton. 337-456-1076
He's expensive but if you have a complicated return like mine ( two businesses, investments, and rentals) he's worth it. If you call tell him Edric recommended him.

I use a local lady in Lockport, I could do it myslef but if I ever get audited shes on the block, not me. That piece of mind is well worth the $100 I spend.

A few years back, we were referred to Tommy Bourque. He is on the north side of Lafayette. Gives me piece of mind. Already dealt with IRS, won't happen again

Not 100% true.

You got that right. I had an H&R Block tax lady clean up a mess of issues for an old return dating back to the year Hurricane Ike made a disaster of my tax papers. She seemed confident all was well, but that didn't stop the IRS from taking another $2,000.

I recommend Tommy as well!

Duck Butter or Cajun Saint, do either of you guys have contact info for Tommy Bourque?

Duck Butter 01-29-2016 07:47 AM

337 235 0472. He is on north side on simcoe street. You can call but he doesn't do appointments. Just show up and get in line. May want to get there early. He opens pretty early at least 7 am and maybe 6. You will like him, he hunts and fishes and can answer any questions.

I moved this year so gave to find one myself in the deridder area

Damn! I knew I should have jumped on it while I had the chance!

My wife ended up doing our taxes on Turbo Tax. Just like I suspected, we got back almost double what we usually get and would have been more but I had to pay some capital gains taxes on some property that I sold last year. Turbo Tax was kind of a pain in the butt, but they found us so many deductions that we didn't even know we could claim.

Been using them for 4 years, even bounced it off a CPA's estimate and another online site. All near identical numbers, cant beat it. I won't use anything else as long as mine stay simple.
