What members of this site, know what an recreational offshore landing permit is?

Where do U get one??

Well if u don?t know????? And don?t have one and u go out and fish reef fish??? Don?t be surprised when u get checked by the game-wardens and then get a tix then gave all ur fish Confiscated! I saw just that today....As I was loading my boat non the trailer.. Was checked by game wardens... they had 3 ice chest full of consficated snaps, cobia, mangroves etc... we were legal... But others didn?t have the Required offshore landing permit!

2 others boat came in as I was unloading my boat... I told both of their crews that they where lucky as they had missed the game wardens by 5 min... one owner told me they did well on snaps cobia, and dolphin... When I asked if everyone on his boat had the required ROLP... He said he had never heard of it... Well I told him he was a lucky guy..Because he would have been tired and all his fish confiscated .... Anywho... guys go to the WLF website and get Ur free permit...

Wow. I understand they are just doing their job and all but confiscating peoples fish over a FREE permit. Cmon man. A warning would suffice in my opinion. Ive never heard of a recreational offshore landing permit either.

Just another way for them to infringe on your rights.

had this happen to me last year. have a lifetime hunting and fishing license so i figured i was good.

went snapper fishing last year and got checked coming back in. not one person had every heard of this. we all got tickets and took all of our fish... completely ridiculous.
