Average price of annual boat maintenance ?

Fairly new to the boat world and looking for some prices on annual maintenance. Just wanna know what some pay so I compare to what I get locally. Looking for oil change, gear oil, plugs, and water pump. :D

I have a light 18' poling skiff that I use in the marsh to sight fish. It's as simple as it gets and does 30mph with a 25hp Yam 2stroke. I usually spend around $500/yr (annual maintenance like spark plugs, lower unit oil, water pump etc), but I don't work on it myself. I bring it to Gulf Coast Boats in Laff. They're running a special right now 10% off annual maintenance. I'm dropping off boat today!

Costs vary greatly with the specific boat. I've owned a 16' aluminum boat with 20 hp motor for a long time, and $500/yr seems about right. Add $100 a year for the trailer.

But add horsepower to the motor, lots of electronic accessories in the boat, or a desire to keep fiberglass looking perfect, and costs escalate quickly. A 20' bay boat with a 200 hp motor is an entirely different deal.

Quick and does good work. He lives right by Lafayette High. Think I paid about $300 for an annual service few weeks ago.

Thanks fellas. What about trailer repair around Lafayette? Few people have recommended claudes in NI.

just picked up my Blackjack today from Quality Trailers off pinhook. Great service, and it?s usually same day turn around unless they have to order parts. They operate by appointment only so call to get on the list. Dropped trailer off at 8am this morning, picked it up at 3pm with two new axles, stainless brakes, sealed hubs, etc. They do good work, and they are good people.

I second Quality Trailers. Been dealing with them for over 20 years and never disappointed.

Third for Quality Trailers. Family owned and run. Honest, timely, and will always call to say if they found any issue that you are not aware of and provide estimate to repair. I've been using them since the 1990s. If your trailer can't make it to the boat ramp, you can't fish. Get it checked.

Just picked up my boat from him today. I had him go through the motor since it sat up for over a year. $400 to her her going again. Dropped it off Saturday and it was ready Wednesday. I couldn?t have been happier with the service and even happier with the price. Great guy and great communication. Thanks for posting his info!
