Closures Affecting Trout Fishing

Dularge Redfish Trips
Offshore waters are still closed so I'm chasing redfish with anyone who wants to go. Unfortunately 90% of my customers want to catch speckled trout so I'm sitting at home on most days. I fished the past 3 days and would like to thank Doug Clement for helping me out Friday & Saturday with a couple of redfish trips. On Friday, Capt Gerald Ellender and I covered a lot of water with the guys from Energy Cranes & Sparrow. We started off looking for trout but were unsuccessful. The crew busted up the big reds as our plan B was put into effect. The big redfish were slamming our purple haze swimbaits and the guys had fun catching the bronze bruisers on light tackle. Plenty of big fish with many exceeding the 27in. mark! They caught their limits by noon and headed back to the dock to beat the heat. Capt Geralds boat had a few nice trout and a good box of big reds too. Everyone had a great time! Good luck fishing.
