Coordinates and Ideas
 

We are looking to do some offshore fishing out of Cameron or that area. We are looking for snapper/tuna/amberjack etc. I am looking for coordinates to rigs out from Cameron and underwater structures. We have never fished this area. Also looking for rentals (a place to stay) and marinas that can handle a 26' offshore boat. Thank you for any information on this!

what kind of range does the boat have. or should i say how far out are you willing to go?

Calcasieu Rock don't do well in middle of the summer like it did 10 years ago.

If you want to launch out of the Cameron Jetty's, the only place on the coast is the Cameron Motel in downtown Cameron.
But you can find places in Hackberry. It is 15 or so miles from the coast by water.

WC-368 and WC-280 were my back up spots when the closer in spots didn't produce.
I see they are still there.

My advice is fish as far east as LDWF allows you, takes a lot of gas and good weather to catch good fish here. I mean fish besides snapper and ling.

Fishing out of Cameron........expect to go out at least 30 miles and it maybe 40 miles before you start to see good "Green" water.
