Recirculating Oxygen Pump
I am having trouble keeping bait alive in my livewell and have been wanting to install a recirculating pump that infuses oxygen into the water. I can only find one on the internet and was wondering if i should get it. Do yall think it is a good thing to have and where can i find one?

I saw an oxygen bottle set up at the Houston Fishing Show.
It had the same rock/hose set up as Calcasieu Point shrimp tanks. |
idk, but you can't legally transport oxygen without a license. So idk how that will work out.
When I was volunteering at the FD, we could have a medical bag but no O2 cuz you had to have special license or something to carry it. Idk how that works out for people w/ at home oxygen or what not, but thats what I've always been told |

sure you can...same as welding bottles...not medical gas though |

They don't require oxygen tanks......just pump air from outside into the water......never seen the bucket lids with the oxygen pump on top?

yep medical oxygen has to have a purity of around 99.6% pure O2, which is the normally the same as "industrial grade" or welding grade.
Now you have to have a prescription for medical oxygen...its just like getting a prescription of antibiotics etc... I sell med o2 and we are regulated by the state and the fda. Lots of paperwork and bs but it protects the patient. He could could have a small cylinder filled with industrial O2. Just need proof of ownership of the bottle to get it filled. |
My dad is a retired a/c man. He carried O2 in his truck for 35 years.
I have some in my shed. Never got any kind of permit. |

Im not 100% sure what I have in my boat.....but this sucker keep trout alive all day...Last few tournaments we almost had to beat the trout down..........They stay live and kicking...

i know guys who run oxygen bottles into thier livewells for holding fish during tourneys they say it works wonders, as far as bait for some reason ive had bait die if i keep my live well pump on continus, try switching it on only for 15min every hour or 45 min. or you can buy a floating bubbler that connects to your tm battery . also freeze bottles of water the night b4 and place em in your bait well once the sun is high in the sky and the water heats up . hot water is what kills most bait not lack of oxygen
