Starting problem

Yesterday after our second stop of the day motor would just turn over and kind of sound like it wanted to start. Never had this happended before. Just on a whim tilted motor up almost out of water and then it cranked. Stopped and fished twice again, much to my wife's dismay, and motor started fine. It's a 3 yr old Yamaha 150 4 stroke.

Only takes 2 things to make a motor start or not. Fuel and spark.......these new motors have a check engine light yet? That'd be convenient

They are battery hungry. I would check your battery voltage and make sure the leads at your battery are more than hand tight

Could be loose connection. Tilted it up and it started working again......

You are very correct, also make sure the connections are bright and shiny with no corrosion.

Thanks, I looked over the battery connections they seemed to be ok, but took them apart and gave then a cleaning.
