Big Lake Report

Sorry guys no pics...but got into some good specs. In the 3 hours I was out there I caught 9 specs not one under 3 lbs and a 6.3 top. Lost one on the side of the boat that had to be in the 8-9lb range.....thought she was a red so i didn't go for the net right away...after she pulled drag for about 3 minutes i saw the tail and went for the net.... got her to the side of boat and she had one last run in her....dropped the net and got her back to the side of boat....reached down for net and extended it .........fish was floating on her side....and then my luck kicked in ......no head movement from the fish but my dang hook and grub come popping out. I couldn't believe it b/c the fish laid there on her side for about 4 seconds after the hooked popped out. Talk about make you sick!!!! :puke:
Anyhow along with the specs caught 3 reds.

Fished for hogs not numbers.....but saw plenty of fish being brought in at Hebert's.

Cheers!!!!!!!!1:cheers:

Kahunaz, get you some of them Netting lessons! :help: ha! Getting exspensive for you, between that one and the other one you talked about missing with the net that's TWO STAR Boats you let get away! Seems like you've been on some big trout, i'm not going to ask where you been fishing BUT what has been your lure of choice?

I've had net issues all this year....but this is the most i've fished alone. Im gonna have that dang thing ready every time i launch the boat!:D
I was struggling to find a big bite for the past 2 weeks but i'm onto them now!
I throw nothing but sand eels! The big ones! Not the Jrs. I fish for one fish when i'm out there and not numbers.... And Super Spooks but that's when i get bored. I've caught more big fish on the eels than I've had blow up on topwater.
I'm debating whether to head out now or just rest up. Just got off work and i'm whipped!
Anyone up for some HACKETT's for lunch? UHMMMMM HMMMM GOOD!
