Kinda strange first post
Pensacola guy here and first post. Lurked here for a few months and have really enjoyed learning to read cajun, we speak southern over here. But this weekend me and a friend are heading your way, We will be going down to the Venice area to drop off some diapers at a couple of churches for them to give to anybody that may need them. No fishing as i am not bringing my boat, but was looking for some Good Places to eat down that way and buy some boudin or any other thing that is a good time. We will be traveling down highway23/11 .
Thanks, Barry |
If you want good cajun food (especially boudin) you need to go west of the Mississippi and south of Alexandria.
This should fire some people up. |
Lafayette area for boudin and real Cajun food.......new Orleans area is "Creole"(*****)........
|
Pensacola huh????? Why the heck would you waste Money on a whaler when you have cape horn in your back door??? Lol!!!

There is a place before you get to Empire that has good poboys... cant think of the name but it is on the right side of the road when you are going south. As for boudin its tough to find good boudin in that area like everyone else says. You can order some good stuff and have it shipped to you. Im pretty sure Heberts Specialty Meats in Maurice ships nationwide. Their stuffed chickens are amazing too the phone number there is (337) 893-5062. Also the Best Stop in Scott and Don's specialty meat in Carencro ship nationwide as well.

X2 on best stop I drive there from B.R. just to buy andoullie.
As for boudin we got a top notch place right down the street from the house . jerry Lee's. i've had dons and best stop and he beats those hands down. |
